Reefer Bay General Worker – Wash Bays

Dynamic Outsourced Solutions is seeking reliable, hardworking and physically fit Reefer Bay General Workers – Wash Bays to join a busy container park in Maitland, Cape Town. The successful candidates will assist with the cleaning and washing of refrigerated containers while maintaining a safe, clean and organised wash bay environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and wash refrigerated containers in the designated wash bay.
• Prepare containers for washing by removing dirt, debris and other contaminants.
• Operate high-pressure cleaning equipment and other wash bay equipment safely.
• Clean container floors, walls, doors and other accessible areas as required.
• Use cleaning chemicals and detergents in accordance with prescribed procedures.
• Inspect containers after cleaning and identify areas requiring additional cleaning.
• Ensure all refrigerated containers are cleaned to the required quality standards.
• Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping within the wash bay and surrounding work areas.
• Clean and maintain washing equipment and tools after use.
• Inspect equipment before use and report defects or damage immediately.
• Handle cleaning chemicals safely and follow all workplace procedures.
• Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Use water, cleaning products and other materials responsibly.
• Report spills, damaged equipment, unsafe conditions and other hazards immediately.
• Assist with moving and positioning containers for washing when required and when it is safe to do so.
• Follow instructions from the Reefer Supervisor and other authorised personnel.
• Comply with all occupational health and safety requirements.
• Maintain a safe, clean and organised working environment.
• Assist with other general operational duties within the Reefer Bay when required.
• Perform any other reasonable duties assigned by management.

Working Hours – Two Shifts

The 10 available positions will operate across two shifts to support continuous wash bay operations. Candidates must be willing and able to work rotating shifts, including early and late shifts, weekends and overtime when required.

Candidate Requirements

• Grade 10 minimum; Grade 12 / Matric will be advantageous.
• Previous experience in a wash bay, cleaning, warehouse, logistics, industrial or general worker environment will be advantageous.
• Experience operating high-pressure washing equipment will be advantageous.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual work for extended periods.
• Comfortable working with water, cleaning chemicals and cleaning equipment.
• Willing and able to work outdoors and in wet conditions.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety.
• Ability to follow instructions accurately and consistently.
• Good communication skills.
• Reliable, punctual and committed to meeting work requirements.
