Location: Killarney Gardens, Cape Town

Purpose of the Role

Libstar is seeking a reliable and professional Code 10 Driver to ensure that company products are delivered promptly, safely and efficiently to customers. The successful candidate will be responsible for operating delivery vehicles, handling stock, completing delivery documentation and maintaining high standards of customer service and vehicle safety.

Key Responsibilities

Delivery and Logistics

• Deliver a wide variety of products to customers using designated routes and schedules.
• Follow delivery routes and time schedules provided by the Administrator.
• Safely load, unload, prepare and inspect the assigned Code 10 delivery vehicle.
• Ensure all stock is delivered accurately and in good condition.
• Check delivered stock against delivery notes.
• Obtain customer signatures on delivery documentation.
• Maintain a professional and positive image of the company when interacting with customers.
• Follow all customer delivery and site protocols.
• Report delivery issues, delays or other concerns to the Dispatch Supervisor promptly.
• Report shortages and provide accurate feedback to management.
• Ensure all required delivery documentation is completed correctly.

Vehicle Maintenance and Safety

• Complete vehicle inspection checklists before operating the vehicle.
• Regularly check essential vehicle components, including oil levels and tyres.
• Keep the assigned vehicle clean and presentable both inside and outside.
• Ensure the vehicle remains in good working condition.
• Report vehicle defects, mechanical problems or maintenance requirements immediately.
• Follow instructions from the Dispatch Supervisor regarding minor vehicle repairs where applicable.
• Keep track of vehicle licensing and renewal requirements.
• Maintain accurate daily, weekly and monthly travel logs.
• Comply with all applicable road safety, occupational health and safety requirements.
• Use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) when performing delivery duties.

Minimum Requirements

• Senior Certificate / Grade 12.
• Valid C1 / Code 10 driver's licence.
• Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
• At least 3 years' proven experience as a delivery driver.
• Good driving record with no serious traffic violations.
• Knowledge of occupational health and safety requirements.
• Basic knowledge of food safety.
• Understanding of correct customer delivery protocols.
• Ability to operate a delivery vehicle safely and responsibly.
• Good knowledge of routes and delivery procedures.
