Warehouse Cleaner

MCE Electric is seeking a reliable, hardworking and physically fit Warehouse Cleaner to maintain a clean, safe and hygienic warehouse environment. The successful candidate will perform routine cleaning and housekeeping duties while ensuring that all work areas meet the required health, safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean warehouse floors, walkways, desks, restrooms and common areas daily.
• Sweep, mop and vacuum floors and remove dust, debris and waste from designated areas.
• Empty bins and dispose of waste according to company procedures.
• Maintain cleanliness around loading bays, storage areas and entrances.
• Keep kitchen and bathroom areas clean, neat and free from debris.
• Maintain high standards of general housekeeping throughout the warehouse.
• Use cleaning equipment and materials safely and correctly.
• Store cleaning equipment and materials safely after use.
• Ensure cleaning equipment is handled with care to maintain its condition and usability.
• Refill consumables such as soap, toilet paper and other cleaning supplies when required.
• Monitor cleaning material levels and notify the Line Manager when supplies are running low.
• Check cleaning equipment regularly to ensure it is in proper working condition.
• Report damaged or faulty cleaning equipment immediately.
• Report spillages, maintenance issues, hazards, damages or unsafe conditions to the supervisor.
• Notify management of building repairs or maintenance requirements.
• Assist with maintaining housekeeping standards in accordance with workplace safety regulations.
• Follow all company health and safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Perform other reasonable cleaning and housekeeping duties as required.

Minimum Requirements

• National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent to NQF Level 4.
• At least 3 years of cleaning experience in a warehouse, industrial or commercial environment.
• Basic understanding of workplace health and safety practices.
• Physically fit and able to perform manual cleaning tasks for extended periods.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend and lift as required.
• Reliable and punctual.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Good communication skills.
