A well-established automotive logistics operation is seeking a reliable, detail-oriented and physically capable Strand Warehouse Picker Packer to join its dynamic team on a full-time basis.
The ideal candidate will have excellent numerical accuracy, strong attention to detail and previous warehouse picking and packing experience. This role is suited to someone who takes pride in accuracy, works well under pressure and can maintain high standards in a fast-paced warehouse environment.
Position Details
- Salary: R7,845 gross per month
- Employment: Permanent following successful completion of a 3-month probation period
- Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00; Saturday, 08:00 to 13:00
- Overtime: Paid according to MIBCO regulations
- Leave: 18 days paid annual leave per year
- Benefits after probation: MICFA Provident Fund with 7.5% employee and 8% employer contributions
- Additional Benefit: Prorated December Annual Bonus
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately pick stock from designated bin locations using picking slips.
- Verify picked items against invoices, picking slips and order documentation.
- Pack stock securely to prevent damage during transportation.
- Correctly label packages and ensure they are ready for dispatch.
- Check part numbers and quantities carefully to maintain inventory accuracy.
- Assist with receiving, unpacking and checking incoming stock deliveries.
- Shelve incoming stock in the correct warehouse locations.
- Assist with stock control and inventory management activities.
- Support deliveries, logistics and general warehouse processes.
- Maintain accurate stock movement and handling procedures.
- Keep the warehouse clean, safe, organised and free from unnecessary hazards.
- Handle stock carefully to prevent damage and losses.
- Follow all warehouse, safety and operational procedures.
- Perform other reasonable warehouse duties as required.
Minimum Requirements
- Previous warehouse picker packer experience in any industry is essential.
- Previous automotive or hardware industry experience will be a strong advantage.
- Matric / Grade 12 certificate is highly advantageous.
- Basic computer literacy.
- Excellent numerical accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to read and identify small part numbers quickly and accurately.
- Familiarity with warehouse operations, stock management systems, deliveries and logistics processes.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Physically fit and able to stand, walk, lift and handle stock for extended periods.
- High level of reliability and punctuality.
- Stable employment history and contactable references.
Legal Requirements and Assessments
- Must be a South African-born citizen with a valid South African ID.
- Must have a clear criminal record.
- Background screening and relevant verification checks will be conducted.
- Candidates must be willing to undergo a psychometric or personality assessment during the interview process.
- Candidates who do not meet the required legal and screening criteria will not be considered.
