Workshop General Worker

Dynamic Outsourced Solutions is seeking reliable and hardworking Workshop General Workers to support the daily operations of a busy workshop in Maitland, Cape Town. The successful candidates will provide general assistance to artisans, semi-skilled employees and the Workshop Supervisor while helping to maintain a clean, safe and well-organised workshop environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist artisans, technicians and workshop personnel with general workshop duties.
- Assist with loading, unloading and moving materials, tools, equipment and workshop items.
- Clean and maintain workshop areas, tools and equipment.
- Prepare work areas, tools and equipment for maintenance and repair activities.
- Assist with basic workshop tasks under supervision.
- Handle tools, materials and equipment safely and responsibly.
- Assist with dismantling, cleaning and preparing components when instructed.
- Support artisans with maintenance and repair activities where required.
- Keep workshop areas clean, organised and free from hazards.
- Dispose of waste, scrap and materials correctly according to workplace procedures.
- Report damaged tools, equipment, unsafe conditions and potential hazards to the supervisor.
- Follow all occupational health and safety procedures and workplace rules.
- Wear the required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Assist with the movement and handling of workshop stock and materials.
- Perform general maintenance, cleaning and housekeeping duties.
- Follow instructions from the Workshop Supervisor and senior workshop personnel.
- Assist with other reasonable workshop duties as required by management.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 10 minimum; Grade 12 / Matric will be advantageous.
- Previous experience as a Workshop General Worker or general worker will be preferred.
- Experience in a workshop, warehouse, construction, engineering, logistics or industrial environment will be advantageous.
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety.
- Physically fit and able to perform manual work for extended periods.
- Ability to work with hand tools will be advantageous.
- Good communication skills.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately.
- Reliable, punctual and responsible.
- Willingness to learn new skills and assist with various workshop activities.
