Driver / General Warehouse Worker

ZuluZenith is seeking a reliable and hardworking Driver / General Warehouse Worker to support the end-to-end movement of goods. This versatile role combines warehouse operations with local deliveries and collections, requiring physical stamina, attention to detail, good organisational skills and a strong commitment to safe driving and workplace practices.
Key Responsibilities
Driving and Delivery Operations
- Safely operate company vehicles to transport goods to customers, suppliers and other designated locations.
- Drive vehicles requiring the appropriate licence, including C1 or Code 10/14 depending on operational requirements.
- Plan efficient delivery and collection routes using GPS navigation.
- Ensure deliveries and collections are completed safely and within required timeframes.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
- Report mechanical problems, defects, damage or maintenance requirements immediately.
- Maintain accurate driver logs and delivery records.
- Obtain customer signatures and confirmations for completed deliveries.
- Complete and manage invoices, delivery notes and other relevant transport documentation.
- Ensure goods are securely loaded and transported to prevent damage or loss.
- Comply with all road traffic regulations and company driving procedures.
Warehouse and Stock Management
- Load and unload stock safely at the warehouse and customer locations.
- Receive incoming deliveries and inspect goods for visible damage.
- Verify delivered quantities against purchase orders and supporting documentation.
- Store received goods in the correct designated locations.
- Accurately pick, pack and label products according to customer orders.
- Assist with preparing customer orders for dispatch.
- Participate in regular stock counts and inventory checks.
- Assist in maintaining accurate stock records using warehouse management systems where applicable.
- Handle stock carefully to minimise damage and losses.
- Assist with general warehouse duties as required.
Safety and Housekeeping
- Maintain a clean, organised and safe warehouse and loading environment.
- Keep work areas free from hazards and unnecessary obstructions.
- Operate forklifts, pallet jacks and other material-handling equipment where authorised and appropriately trained.
- Follow all Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) requirements and workplace safety procedures.
- Use appropriate personal protective equipment when required.
- Report unsafe conditions, damaged equipment and other workplace hazards immediately.
Required Experience
- 1–2 years of warehouse or logistics experience.
- 2–3 years of driving experience.
- Previous experience in delivery, distribution or stock handling will be advantageous.
Minimum Requirements
- Valid C1 driver's licence with a clean driving record.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- Grade 12 / Matric or equivalent.
- Ability to lift and move heavy items, frequently weighing between 25 and 40 kg.
- Ability to stand, walk and perform physical duties for extended periods.
- Basic computer literacy for data entry, stock control and inventory tracking.
- Ability to use GPS navigation and mobile devices for routing and delivery coordination.
- Good communication and customer service skills.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Reliable, punctual and physically fit.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Advantageous Qualifications
- Forklift certification.
- Experience using a Warehouse Management System (WMS).
- Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, distribution or delivery environment.
- Knowledge of stock control and inventory procedures.
