General Assistant

Incanda is seeking reliable, hardworking and physically capable individuals to join the Woodwork Department as General Assistants. The successful candidates will play an important role in supporting daily production operations through material handling, waste management, housekeeping and general operational duties.

Key Responsibilities
- Assist with woodwork waste management and material distribution.
- Support machine shop and production operations as instructed by the Line Manager.
- Safely move stock, materials, equipment and furniture within the facility.
- Load and off-load stock, furniture, equipment and materials when required.
- Assist production employees with general operational and production-related tasks.
- Maintain cleanliness and good housekeeping within work areas.
- Ensure workspaces are kept organised and free from unnecessary hazards.
- Follow all workplace safety procedures and operational standards.
- Report unsafe working conditions, damaged equipment and quality concerns to the relevant supervisor.
- Handle materials and equipment carefully to prevent damage.
- Assist with various departmental duties as required.
- Perform additional reasonable tasks and ad hoc duties assigned by the Line Manager.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric.
- Ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
- Basic understanding of workplace health and safety procedures.
- Ability to perform physical and manual labour.
- Previous experience in furniture manufacturing, woodwork, production or a similar environment will be advantageous.
- Willingness to work overtime and weekends when required.
