Close Protection Officers

Fidelity Services Group is seeking experienced and qualified Close Protection Officers to provide professional security and personal protection to clients across various environments. The successful candidates will be responsible for assessing security risks, implementing effective protection strategies and responding appropriately to potential threats while maintaining a high level of professionalism and discretion.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive risk assessments to identify potential threats and vulnerabilities.
• Develop and implement security and protection plans based on individual client requirements.
• Monitor clients, surroundings and activities to identify and prevent potential security incidents.
• Maintain a high level of situational awareness while providing discreet and professional protection.
• Apply personal security protocols and respond effectively to incidents and emergencies.
• Operate business-purpose firearms, particularly handguns, in accordance with South African legislation and company requirements.
• Provide secure transportation support, including route planning and emergency response procedures.
• Work closely with other security personnel and law enforcement agencies when required.
• Maintain accurate and detailed records of incidents, security operations and relevant client interactions.
• Provide professional frontline support during high-pressure and potentially hazardous situations.
• Remain calm, decisive and professional when dealing with security threats or emergencies.
• Ensure all security procedures and organisational standards are consistently followed.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid PSIRA registration at Grade A or B.
• Proven experience as a Close Protection Officer or in a related security position.
• Valid driver's licence and competent driving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Good understanding of security procedures, threat assessment and risk management.
• Firearm competency for a handgun for business purposes.
• Ability to operate firearms in compliance with applicable South African laws and regulations.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Ability to remain composed and professional in high-stress situations.
• High level of integrity, discretion and personal responsibility.

Preferred Qualifications

• Additional close protection, personal security or specialist security training.
• Experience working with corporate clients, high-profile individuals or in entertainment environments.
• PSIRA Grade A or B registration.
• Firearm competency with a handgun for business purposes.
• First Aid, CPR or relevant emergency response certification.
• Experience operating in varied and high-pressure security environments.
